I am a complete beginner. Is that a problem?

Not at all - most of my students start from zero. The lessons are built for beginners: we start speaking simple Dutch from the very first lesson, and everything is explained clearly along the way.

Do you teach Flemish or "Netherlands" Dutch?

I teach standard Dutch with a Flemish accent and Flemish everyday vocabulary - the Dutch you will actually hear in Belgium. Everything you learn is understood perfectly in the Netherlands too.

How do the online lessons work?

We meet on a video call at a time you booked. You need nothing more than a laptop and a notebook. All materials, exercises and homework are included and shared digitally.

What happens in the trial lesson?

We get to know each other, I assess your level, and we discuss your goals. Afterwards you get a personal study plan and honest advice - even if that advice is not "book lessons with me".

How many lessons per week do I need?

I generally recommend two lessons per week. In my experience, this is the ideal balance between regular practice and enough time to review what you've learned between lessons. Most students build confidence and make noticeably faster progress at this pace. One lesson per week is still a great option if you have more time to practise independently. If you're preparing for an exam, moving to Belgium or have a specific deadline, three lessons per week can help you reach your goals more quickly. I generally don't recommend more than three lessons a week, as it's important to have enough time to revise, complete homework and let new material sink in.

Can I cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Life happens! You can reschedule any lesson free of charge up to 12 hours in advance.

Question 7

Do you prepare students for integration exams?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you need Dutch for integration (inburgering) or citizenship requirements in Flanders, we can structure your lessons around exactly those requirements.
